It has an arcade feel with tongue and cheek story and characters. There is a lot of charm packed into this 99 Cent gem.. Fun gameplay with beautiful graphics, brought down by absoutely ear-gradding voice acting. Play with the sound off.. Really fun game! The gameplay feel and physics feel bang on for this type of game. Story is pretty surface-level, but motivating. Outstanding pixel graphics and voice-acted cut-scenes. PRO TIP: Mute the game for the boss battles, There are waaay too few voiced lines during those, meaning the 2-3 boss lines will literally repeat dozens of times!. So far so good! I've played this game for about an hour and have really enjoyed it. It really reminds me of old school games I used to play when I was younger. Really like the voice acting and music, it really adds that extra flair for the game's experience. Art and gameplay are nice (althought I've died a lot haha) and it shows a lot of work has been put into this game!. If you stopped long enough to read reviews for this game, then you should buy it. How can I exactly characterize why this game is so good? Well, when I was growing up and playing the 2d pixelated games of yore I used to spend time imagining how great games would be in the future as technology improved. But to my surprise many people from my generation who went on to make video games as a career decided they wanted to use advanced technology to create completely different types of games (i.e. all the high-end cinematic/interactive games that dominate today). I have nothing against new types of games, that's great; but I never understood why the original types of games were just left behind. I had always hoped that the types of games I knew and loved would continue to improve. DYA Games makes exactly those types of games. Strikey Sisters is a straight-forward arcade game with fantastic 2d graphics, good music, good controls, and an excellent playtime for the price. Usually getting all achievements for a game is somewhat of a labor rather than a love, but I enjoyed every minute of it in this case. Not only do I recommend this game, I recommend buying it at full price to support the creators since there are so few that create games like this anymore. Summary:Graphics: 9/10 - Not perfect, but very goodGameplay: 9/10 - There are a few hiccups (striking can miss the ball in certain circumstances, sometimes double ball does not do anything, etc.), so I can't fairly say it's perfect, but it does not detract much from the fun and more than anything I just wish there were more levels!Controls: 10/10 - Simply, straightforward, no problems here.Music/SFX: 10/10 - 16-bit era style, exactly what it should be. Only the map song is catchy though.Story: 9/10 - Of course I rate this based on the type of game it is. An arcade game like this is not supposed to have a deep story. Nothig wrong with the premise and story, but I consider this the weakest part of the game because the voice acting is rather odd sounding, it sounds like the voice actors are not very experienced. I think it would have been better to simply left it with text alone.. This game is HARD, but fun! A really enjoyable co-op brick breaker experience. I picked this up for only a dollar during a steam sale and have played several hours with my wife. I've definitely gotten my money's worth!
